Fresh Paint OKC

Tiffany McKnight has been selected as a mentor for the OKC Thunder Fresh Paint Mural Competition, a program created in partnership with the Arts Council Oklahoma City that supports emerging muralists through public art opportunities.

Fresh Paint has become a key platform for young artists in Oklahoma City to gain visibility, experience, and community recognition. McKnight, along with Maddie Sanders (Holatte), will work directly with participating artists, offering guidance as they develop and execute large-scale murals for public viewing.

Mentors Tiffany McKnight and Maddie Sanders (Holatte) with the 2026 Fresh Paint Artists: Max Hamblin, Angela Ulloa, Aida Ourang, Nayelly Morales Rojo, and Paige Nguyen.

McKnight’s own career has been shaped by opportunities like this. From early mural festivals to major public commissions, her work has evolved through hands-on experience in the field. Stepping into a mentorship role allows her to pass that knowledge forward in a way that feels both intentional and necessary.

“I know what it means to be in those early stages, figuring things out in real time,” she says. “Being able to support artists as they navigate that process is something I take seriously.”

Her approach to mentorship is rooted in both creative development and professional awareness. Beyond design and execution, she emphasizes the importance of self-advocacy, understanding scope, and building sustainable practices as a working artist.

Through People by People, McKnight has consistently prioritized community building and artist support. This mentorship role reflects that ongoing commitment, placing her in direct collaboration with artists who are actively shaping Oklahoma City's visual identity.

As Fresh Paint continues to grow, McKnight’s involvement signals a deeper investment in the future of public art and the artists who will define it.
