Black Heritage Creative Contest
Tiffany McKnight has been selected as a judge for the Oklahoma City Thunder Black Heritage Creative Contest, a program that encourages young artists to submit artwork inspired by an experience, a moment, or an individual in Black History.
As a multidisciplinary artist based in Oklahoma City, McKnight’s work centers on pattern, color, and abstract storytelling. Her practice centers on creating meaningful connections between people, place, and identity. Serving as a mentor for this contest reflects a natural extension of that work.
“This opportunity feels aligned with the kind of impact I want to have as an artist,” McKnight shares. “To not only create work, but also to help recognize and elevate the next generation of artists who are expressing their stories in powerful ways.”
The Black Heritage Creative Contest provides a platform for artists to explore themes of heritage, resilience, and community through visual expression. As a judge, McKnight brings both a critical eye and a lived understanding of what it means to create work that holds cultural weight while remaining visually compelling.
Her selection reinforces her growing presence within Oklahoma’s creative ecosystem and her ongoing commitment to supporting emerging artists. Through her company, People by People, McKnight continues to advocate for access, visibility, and sustainable opportunities for artists working across disciplines.
This years judges include (L to R): Tiffany McKnight, Jabee, Erica Nkechi, Ebony Iman Dallas-Ewing, Leondre Lattimore, Angel Little, and Tony Tee.
This role marks another step in her expanding involvement with institutions that are shaping the cultural landscape of Oklahoma City and beyond.
